Catie loves two things in the design world:

        o Designing spaces to feel warm, unique and beautiful.

        o Creating drawings to show the ideas and concepts before they're actually made.

With these two concepts, she created Catie Nichols Design, with the goal of achieving both.

When it comes to design, she loves a tailored comfortable feel, and is never afraid of color, or an eye catching statement piece. However, the function of the space will always remain the top priority. As a mom of two young kids, she understands the need for comfort and refinement, combined with busy, everyday life.

Aside from designing her own spaces, Catie's other passion has always been sketching and putting together 3D renderings. In 2015, she began working for herself to do just that. Since then, she's had the opportunity to work with numerous talented designers throughout California, helping to get their ideas onto paper in the clearest way possible.

Prior to Catie Nichols Design, Catie had worked for two extremely influential companies for almost a decade combined;

Kaleidoscope Design & Hood Branded Environments.

At Kaleidoscope Design, she worked under two talented interior designers with whom gave her the exposure to all things design, while working on high-end residential projects, and multi-family housing.

At Hood Branded Environments, she saw the design and build come together. While working on event spaces, commercial environments and product design, she worked closely with engineers to bring the design to life, step by step. At Hood BE, she had the privilege of working on larger projects including the Coors Deck @ AT&T park, the "Faithful Mile" @ LEVI's stadium, the Nintendo World Store, & Sony Playstation. She was able to see the design & build happen from the ground up. The knowledge she gained here forced her to learn & appreciate the way things go together. It has really helped shape her approach toward new designs.

Catie grew up in Southern California and moved to the Bay Area to attend San Francisco State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. She lives in Oakland with her husband, two children, and two crazy dogs.
